Month-long residencies provide film teams with time, space, and financial support to advance a feature film project through development, pre-production, or post-production.

UFO seeks to support independent film teams in need of dedicated, subsidized time and space to focus on their feature project, away from daily life obligations. We strive to provide targeted, tailored direct support to residents, such as subsidizing childcare for filmmaker parents and connecting teams with our industry network.

Residencies are curated by nomination from trusted partner film orgs who help us identify filmmakers and film projects in need of this opportunity.

During their stay, residents live at the Silver Sun Foundation’s residence in the Catskills and engage with the local community through events curated in partnership with Upstate Films.
